Thin pavers are installed over an existing concrete. We also have a solution for installing them over river rock without the extra cost and mess of excavating the river rock. It is not advisable to install them over asphalt. The pavers can be set on a thin sand base or they can be thinset down in a manner similar to tile installations. Picturesque Pavers does not use a sand base. Instead, we permanently bond the pavers onto the concrete deck or cool decking with an extra-strength thinset mortar. Setting them like a tile prevents any moisture build up underneath and around the pavers, that will later lead to black mold and mildew forming on the pavers. We have installed thin pavers on pool decks, patios, driveways and walkways. They are a perfect way to obtain the elegance of brick without the mess and expense of removing the existing surfaces.

Below are pictures of just a few of our thin paver installations. See many of our other thin paver installations by clicking here.

Proper Coping Installation:

Remodel copings are installed on the edge of a pool remodeled with thin pavers. We thinset the coping (including the nose of the coping that goes over the edge) onto the pool surface. As you can see from the pictures to the right, there is a great variation in the quality of coping installations. The copings shown on the left were installed with no consideration as to how they would look. They did not cut each coping in order to give it a uniform appearance. You therefore get the gaps and triangles when the grout is applied.

Picturesque Pavers installed the copings on the right. We cut each coping so that there is an even space between each coping and the grout, when applied, has a very clean and uniform appearance.
